Basic Acting Techniques

Now you can learn how to consistently build a complete, truthful, and fulfilling life experience on stage or in front of a camera! This intensive 10 week class takes you through a hands-on, systematic approach that covers all the basic skills that comprise truthful and dynamic acting. In this class you'll learn what you need to do from the moment you pick up a script to the thrill of opening night when you bring your character to life in front of an audience or on film. You'll understand how to create a powerful rehearsal process and you will discover how to prepare for a fulfilling performance. This is not a lecture; you will be experiencing for yourself each stage of rehearsal in a scene that will be performed at the end of the ten weeks. This is an excellent class for anyone who is new to acting; interested in finding out more about what is involved in acting, and for the seasoned performer who wants to create a dependable foundation in their ongoing work.

Ongoing Acting Class

This weekly Ongoing Acting Class provides the perfect training zone to consistently stretch as an actor. Bring in the material that you would like to work on – monologues, cold readings, audition material, scenes and original material or let Rhonda assist you in choosing the perfect material for your next steps of growth as an actor. You'll be uplifted and encouraged by an inspiring community of actors as you deepen your craft and develop your skills. This class is perfect for those who have studied at the Elizabeth Browning Studio as well as those with prior acting training.

The Actors Journey: Scene Study and Rehearsal Technique

Fine tune your acting skills and become boldly confident in the development of characters and scene work under all circumstances. This unique course will teach you powerful rehearsal techniques that can be applied to acting onstage and in front of the camera, which also works to release any personal blocks to your own self expression while acting. Using specific rehearsal techniques and hands on exercises for the actor in a variety of scenes to be performed, you will experience the thrill of joining the given circumstances of the material to your own rich and unique inner life to bring forth an absolutely compelling piece of theater or film. This class will build your confidence, clarify your process, and empower you both as a performer and human being.

Advanced Scene Study

This ongoing class offers scene and character development for advanced actors: graduates of Basic Acting Techniques and Actor's Journey classes. With an ongoing opportunity for scene work, cold readings, monologue work and work with the classics, the trained actor has an opportunity to expand their acting skills in rehearsal and performance, and stay fully prepared for professional auditions and the roles they will be playing in theater, film, and television.

Actor’s Workout

This is an actor’s dream come true! In acting, you are the instrument that is to be beautifully played onstage or in film and television. We have now created a weekly workout space for all actors and performing artists who want fresh exercises, ongoing support, and a creative space to practice in so that you can keep your instrument fine tuned between jobs or auditions! Each week, for 2 hours, you can come to work out with different proven exercises that help you take compelling action in a scene, create dynamic shortcuts to personalizing the material, experience true connection to your scene partner or reader at an audition, take outrageous risks that work in auditions, and much much more. Jump in at any time for a 10 week workout package and watch your work as an actor grow exponentially. This is the joy and weekly discipline that you have been looking for!
